Seasonal Wildland Firefighter

Applications for Seasonal Wildland Firefighters begin October 19th, 2022. Fire season starts the first week of April through the end of October and applicants must be willing to commit to the entire season. Applicants must have proper certifications for the position(s) applied for.

*Applicants with S-212, NREMT will receive special consideration.​

ENGB Job Description:

The Wildland Division personnel will have the ability to respond to local, regional, and national wildland incidents as well as pre-position and severity assignments. While not on wildland incidents crew will be performing mitigation projects that will include cutting (chainsaw), slash pile construction burning and chipping. The applicant will need be familiar with the Colorado State Forest Defensible Space guidelines and will also need to have a proven track record of exceptional leadership and communication skills. They must have experience with engine operations, progressive hose lays, chain saw operations and fire line construction. Applicant will also be responsible for leadership development and work with staff to establish trainings and task book completion. They should be efficient at completing CTRs, ETRs, as well as ICS 225, 211, 213, 214, 219 documentations. And they should also have a high degree of competence with P150 and P150s VHF radios and the ability to trouble shoot radio anomalies. Familiarity with IQS and PMS 310-1 as well.
