Apply for the Seasonal Wildland Firefighter position
Seasonal Wildland crew members staff two engines (Type 3, Type 6) wildfire season. Crew can expect to provide initial attack and extended attack within the district and provide resources to our neighboring mutual aid partners, including the USFS, State Land and BLM. Crew must be prepared to leave home for extended periods of time while fighting fires on regional and national assignments.
Wildland crew will also engage in several projects completing defensible space mitigation within our district, which will require chainsaw work, chipping, and slash pile burning. Applications are currently being accepted for those with the following qualifications:
Hourly rates effective after February 1, 2023:
ENGB (Engine Boss) $29.35 – $34.36
ENOP (Engine Operator) $28.09 – $33.55
FF-I/ICT5 (Firefighter Type 1/Incident Commander Type 5) $25.36 – $30.44
FF-II (Firefighter Type 2) $22.82 – $27.39
-Those with S-212, EMT-B will receive favorable consideration
Applicants must have a current driver’s license and the ability to pass a drug screening, WCT, background check test and a physical. Seasonal hires can expect to work a minimum of 40 hours per week. Overtime will be expected throughout the fire season from April through October. Limited housing available.
